Responsible for a broad and critical set of duties spanning operational/logistical activities as well as creation and execution of Market Access marketing, strategies, and tactics. Function as a leader within the Commercial Operations team in coordinating plans of action and addressing issues within 3rd party vendors and across internal Dynavax teams such as sales and market access field teams, marketing, legal, market insights, and finance teams.      


  • Supports reimbursement call center set-up – including SOPs and process flows - and manages day-to-day operations without-sourced call center; coordinate with internal Dynavax teams where needed and proactively identify opportunities to increase efficiency; manages overall process for reimbursement issue identification to resolution; proactively recommend program changes to address evolving customer needs and expanding customer base
  •  Supports set up and manages out-sourced, out-bound payer call center; responsible for tracking activity, supporting portal development, and supporting triage and resolution efforts specific to end-customer inquiries related to coverage or reimbursement; acts as a go-between for reimbursement call center and outbound payer call center
  •  Liaise with National Account Manager (NAM) team as needed; tracks payer coverage over time; builds and maintains appropriate metrics and KPIs
  • Acts as the internal expert with respect to sales or direct customer inquiries (via published email account) related to product access, reimbursement, or coverage
  •  Working within the policies and procedures of the Materials Review Committee, update/create field materials for both 3rd party payers (Commercial, Medicare/Medicaid), as well for institutional economic decision makers (P&T, New Technology Review committees, etc.); lead NAM and sales team training efforts for Market Access tools/direction
  •  Identify pull-through opportunities via GPO/other trade accounts with NAMs, and partner with marketing on other awareness or promotion specific initiatives where appropriate; manages planning and logistics related to Market Access specific conference planning and advisory boards
  •  Identify and develop communication/engagement plan for any and all manufacturer-updated communications needed for successful billing/coding at sites of care
  •  Develops KPI, metrics, and creates and maintains dashboard covering reimbursement issues, etc.; work with Market Insights to trouble-shoot data issues relevant to Market Access and draw insights from trade data aggregator
  •  Able to appropriately scope and manage resources in a role with multiple and potentially shifting priorities, dependent on market evolution; ability to recognize need for, and characterize use, of 3rd party vendors or temporary support when needed, and ability to manage those resources

  •  Ensure compliance with all appropriate laws, regulations, and company policies that govern the conduct of contract activities.
  •  Other duties as assigned.
  • Business travel approximately 20%.

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, or related field plus with 5 to 8 years of both Managed Care Marketing and Market Access operations experience
  • Experience in designing customer-centric support services, including SOPs, process maps, and budgets; experience managing 3rd party customer-facing call centers
  • Experience working with or leading field teams or coordinating field team logistics
  • Knowledge of materials development process – needs assessment, concept review, agency management, working collaboratively with Materials Review Board to secure approval for customer-facing pieces, and roll-out/training of those pieces or tools for field teams
  • Working knowledge of buy-and-bill based reimbursement
  • Effective critical thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Vaccine experience preferred

Additional knowledge and skills desired, but not required:

  • MBA or other related graduate-level degree is preferred.
