  • Overview

    This position will be responsible for the integration and management of all Dynavax’s commercial data assets. This includes full responsibility for the commercial data warehouse (DWH) and master data management (MDM) and establishing standards for maintaining data across the commercial function. This position will act as a bridge between the business needs and technical aspects of commercial data to provide efficient processes and tools to support commercial operations and analytics.

    Responsibilities

    • Interface with business stakeholders in Commercial Data Analytics, Market Access, Sales, Finance & Manufacturing to understand informational & insights needs. Translate those needs into raw data necessities and DWH/MDM requirements.
    • Point of contact internally at Dynavax for any data needs or data inquiries
    • Reduce duplication of data sourcing between multiple teams at Dynavax and set-up standard feeds
    • Vendor Management
      • Identify needs for procurement of new data assets, define data requirements and file-layouts
      • Evaluate third-party data sources and data elements required to meet business needs
      • Manage data procurement, including vendor sourcing, negotiation, contracting and Third Party Agreements (TPA)
      • Manage data integration projects between vendors
      • Review and approve requirements and technical file layout documents from vendors
      • Single point of contact for DWH vendor
      • Develop SLA’s and support processes
    • Data Integration, Stewardship & Analysis
      • Oversee Commercial DWH and MDM implementations and maintenance
      • Partner with DWH vendor and IT to ingest, standardize and store data across all data sources (internal and third party)
      • Establish accountability with external vendors and internal stakeholders for data delivery and quality
      • Communicate and adjust data requirements based on evolving business needs
      • Work with internal stakeholders to assist in developing ad hoc reports and perform analysis
    • Master Data Management / Data Governance
      • Institutionalize best practices for data management and usage
      • Oversee MDM (e.g. stewardship)
      • Track, review and address error reports generated by the DWH processes
      • Obtain input on changes to parent-child affiliations and account alignment information from internal and external sources
        • Track, approve and communicate changes to MDM identifiers, affiliations and alignments
        • Work with DWH partner to update MDM
      • Track usage and efficiency of DWH and BI tool and provide recommendations for improvements
    • Collaboration with Commercial Operations
      • Manage and maintain GPO rosters by working with Market Access Team
      • Track and manage the EDI set up process between Distributors and Dynavax’s Data Integrator and 3PL
      • Ad hoc support in mapping new rosters or account lists with the internal customer universe
    • Support routine reporting to all stakeholders
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in working in sales analytics/commercial operations and/or commercial IT. Strong Pharmaceutical industry experience is highly preferred.
    • Very good knowledge of data sources and processes used in pharma commercial operations (Sales, Management Markets, Claims, Customer profile, EDI etc.) across vendors. Strong business and technology acumen
    • Strong understanding of DWH, BI Reporting and MDM is required
    • Experience using and developing reports in a BI tool, preferable Tableau
    • Experience being a liaison between Business, Data and IT partners
    • Project management experience required
    • Extensive experience (at least 5 years) with interfacing with multiple cross functional stakeholders
    • Ability to be hands on in working with data, databases and querying if required
    • Strong experience in vendor and contract management
    • Experience working in Senior roles with excellent skills in communication, facilitation, consensus building & change management
    • Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize competing tasks in time-constrained situations
    • Comfortable in a fast-paced small company environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities;
